Privacy Policy

The short version

Finda runs entirely on your Mac. We do not have servers that touch your file index. We do not see your files, your file names, your search queries, or your activity. Everything below is just the legal-language version of that one paragraph.

1. The file index stays on your Mac

Finda builds a local SQLite index of file names, paths, sizes, and modification dates on your Mac so it can search them quickly.

  • The index is stored only in your user's Application Support folder.
  • It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted off your Mac.
  • Finda does not read file contents — only file metadata.
  • You can delete the index at any time from Settings → General.

2. What we collect

The Finda app itself collects nothing from your device. Two external touchpoints exist:

  • Purchase / activation: When you buy Finda, payment is processed by our third-party payment provider (currently DodoPayments / Lemon Squeezy, as noted on the checkout page). They collect your email and payment details — we receive only a record of the purchase and your email to send your license key.
  • License email: Your license key is delivered via Resend. We retain your email solely for support and re-issuing keys if you lose them.

We do not run any analytics SDK, crash reporter, or telemetry service inside the app.

3. Trial tracking

When you first launch Finda, a local trial token is created and stored in your macOS Keychain. This token contains your machine's hardware UUID (used internally so the trial cannot be reset by reinstalling), the trial start date, and the expiry date. It never leaves your Mac.

4. macOS permissions

Finda requests only the permissions it needs to function:

  • Full Disk Access: Required so Finda can index files outside your home folder (Applications, external drives, etc.). You can revoke this at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  • Network Access: Used only for license verification at activation time and (in future versions) checking for app updates. No data about your files is ever sent.

5. Data retention & deletion

Because Finda's index is entirely local, uninstalling the app and removing its Application Support folder permanently deletes everything Finda has ever known about your Mac. For the purchase record we hold (email + license key), you can request deletion at any time by emailing support@108arpina.com.

6. Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Material changes (anything that would affect what data we collect) will be announced inside the app and to your purchase email before they take effect.
